Capturing developments for sudden-onset disasters, protracted, and forgotten crises

CrisisInSight is an Assessment Capacities Project analysis portfolio. The portfolio enables the comparison of the severity of crises globally as well as the level of humanitarian access, while providing trends analysis and a forward-looking scan for risks.

In order to measure the severity of a crisis, the INFORM Severity Index is used to bring together 31 core indicators, organised in three dimensions: impact, conditions of affected people, and complexity. The correlation of these different sources of analysis makes it possible to envisage scenarios and reinforce preparedness. It provides an evidence-based foundation for decision makers and humanitarian actors and may help them improve principled operational response and a better allocation of resources.
